About This Item
New York: Farrar , Straus and Giroux, 1999. Boards. Near Fine/Very Good. David Small. The 1999 stated 1st edition, reprinted from a 1923 Carl Sandburg collection and issued many years later in this hardback edition, with the wonderful David Small illustrations. THIS COPY IS NOT ONLY INSCRIBED BY DAVID SMALL on the title page BUT ALSO INCLUDES AN ORIGINAL DRAWING OF HIS (A PIG READING A BOOK) just above the inscription. A very solid copy to boot. Clean and Near Fine in a crisp, price-intact, VG dustjacket, with creasing --and several small closed tears-- along the spine ends and clear tape inconspicuously applied to the inside of the dustjacket as reinforcemnt. A handsome copy and uncommon as such.
