St. Paul, MN: Bookslinger Editions, 1981. 1st. Hardcover. Fine Condition. First limited letterpress edition. Without dust jacket as issued. Quarterbound in cloth with Murehitome paper covered boards. There is a paper label on the front cover. Uncut pages. One of 26 lettered copies of a total edition of 150 signed by the author on a blank page before the title page on which she has hand written a paragraph originally intended to be the second paragraph of the story. This paragraph was deleted by the author from all the published versions. The illustrator has signed the obverse of this page. Printed at the Toothpaste Press. The author has been awarded a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship, two Pushcart Prizes, the St. Lawrence Award for Fiction, the Fels Award for Fiction, the Sue Kaufman Prize for First Fiction from the American Academy and Institute of Arts and Letters and has been a resident at Yadoo.
