The text is illustrated with black-and-white drawings – various prizes won by author for his marksmanship. Brown coloured textured cardboard with gilt illustration and gilt coloured titles to the fund panel and gilt coloured titles to the backstrip. This book was first published in 1882 – and has as the front panel, a facsimile of the original edition. The autobiography of the author, who was a crack shot and marksmen in the late 19th century of America, winning many prizes and shooting competitions both in America and England and Europe. Also included are the author's hints for beginner marksmen. On the top edge of the title page is an inscription stating the owner's name – Louise Mae Farrow, stating that she is the daughter of the author and her address; please see photograph. First edition of the work in this format and binding, and/or set or series. Size: 16mo (very small). [5], 4-204, [2] pages,. Text body is clean, and free from previous owner annotation, underlining and highlighting. Binding is tight, covers and spine fully intact. All edges clean, neat and free of foxing.
