Goldstone had this copy enclosed in a custom green cloth dustjacket with a small leather title on spine and gilt lettering including the words "First Edition 1879" to bottom cloth spine DJ. Copy and DJ are enclosed in a custom made green morocco slipcase with green matching cloth of the DJ. First issue points include date on title page and first ad at rear covering Frances Hodgson Burnett. Book and dustjacket in near fine condition--only normal age toning. From the collection of Jean Hersholt--who was the Danish actor who played Heidi's grandfather in the original movie with Shirley Temple in the title role. A fine copy in original hard wrappers, uncut and protected over the years in a custom chemise and slipcase--which Hersholt had custom made. Besides acting, Hersholt was a noted collector and a noted translator of the works of Hans Christian Anderson into English (translated over 150 works). This copy is labeled with Hersholt's custom gold label and signed by him on the label at the top. In addition the custom chemise has a small sticker with the notation of "No. 576"--From the library of Jean Hersholt". A very good copy in a near fine unclipped dustjacket--rare to fine in this condition. Signed by the author on the half title page. A famous western writer in the heyday of the genre--this is the retelling of the story of Little Big Horn and Custer's last stand. Henry Allen also wrote as Clay Fisher--and together Will Henry/Clay Fisher had 7 titles made into movies including "McKenna's Gold"--"The Tall Men" and "Tom Horn". Light edgewear on dustjacket with only the slightest of chipping to head and heel of spine-- and no tears. A clean unmarked copy--only a little dustiness and normal age toning. 344 pp. Not price clipped. Mapped endpapers and pastedowns. No tears to dustjacket. Extremely scarce signed.

Very fine in a dust jacket with minor wear, else fine. The jacket is much more attractive than usual for this book. The scarcest of Welch's novels, especially in nice condition.

A very nice copy of Sitgreaves Report. 1853. Senate Exec. Doc. 59. All 79 plates are present and the map is professionally reproduced in full size (27 x 47 inches) and placed in rear pocket. Howes S528; Wagner-Camp 230:1; Graff 3809. A note on collation: it is difficult. It helps to have reference materials and more than one copy. I have both and can guarantee this collates complete. Only condition issue is moderate to heavy foxing in places. That is a common problem with this volume. No prior ownership markings, stamps, or vandalism. In a beautiful modern quarter leather and marbled boards fine binding by Starr Bookworks. A very nice example of this work in fine binding and high quality full size facsimile map to complete the work. Please see scans of the book you will receive.
