Very Good. 2 volumes: ix, [5], 265, [1] p., frontispiece and 9 leaves of plates; [6], 277, [1] p., frontispiece and 9 leaves of plates; 22 cm. Dark green cloth with gilt spine titles and decorations, and gilt cover titles. Top page edges gilt. This is no. 193 of a limited edition of 250 copies. Title pages and half titles printed in red and green. "Large-Paper Edition." The plates and headpieces are by Maude Alice Cowles (1871-1905) and Genevieve Alameda Cowles (1871-1950), sisters and members of the Art Workers' Club for Women in New York City. Bookplate on each front fixed endpaper of Elisabetha C. Orth. Name of former owner Rudolf L. D. Orth written on each half title page; "Orth" and "R. Orth" written in lower margins of several pages; address in Flushing, N.Y., written on back fixed endpaper of vol. 1. A scarce set. A heavy set; for international shipping, the U.S. Postal Service requires that it be shipped by priority/expedited shipping. In Very Good Condition: edges are lightly rubbed; vol. 1 lacking front free endpaper; clean and tight.
