For the use of young people. FIRST EDITION 1788. COOKERY FOR CHILDREN. 12mo approximately 160 x 100 mm, 6¼ x 4 inches, 26 woodcuts by John Bewick, pages: [3], 4-120 plus 10 pages of adverts added later dated 1790 (A LIST of BOOKS PUBLISHED by the Rev. Dr. Trusler). Plain leather spine, old marbled boards with curiously a faint family tree of Royalty with crowns printed on them. Boards rubbed and stained, corners worn with board showing at tips, 2 short closed tears neatly repaired, no loss, the last 3 pages of text have a tiny nick to fore-edge, all catalogue pages have 2 tiny nicks to fore-edges, first free endpaper has neat repair to lower margin, a few tiny pale marks to margins, very occasional pale foxing, old ink names to first free endpaper, inner paper hinges cracked, binding sound, no loose pages, floral bookplate on first pastedown of Irene Gosse, author of "A Florilege: Chosen From the Old Herbals". A very good copy.
