Undated Edition, circa mid 19th C. Frontis illus. countrywoman beekeeper and hives. Title page has Vignette illus. of Beehives. In-text illustrations throughout. Detailed account of the Bees and their activities. Includes building the comb, swarming, hive ventilation, Missionaries attacked by wild bees, Transportation, Bees in Australia, care of Bees, honey, and much more. Period Green cloth cover with blind-stamped foliate decoration on front & spine. Bright Gilt Title and Scroll & flower design in centre of front and Gilt title on spine. Yellow endpapers. Spine colour faded. Some wear to front fore edge of board. Name in very old browned ink and tiny other name and penciled price on ffep. No other inscriptions.
