About This Item

Philadelphia, PA: Fraternity of Free and Accepted Masons, 1961. Hardcover. Very Good-/None. Blue cloth boards with gilt titling on the front, bit of wear to tips and with some sunfading to front. Binding is sound. Owner's name and lodge numbers penned on title page; Interior is otherwise unmarked. Lacking dustjacket, likely as issued. 8vo, 6.25 x 9.25 ins. Our photos depict actual book offered for sale. Books are carefully packaged by hand and shipped from our family-owned bookshop in Easton, Pennsylvania, USA. BOOK INFO: Compiled from publications and records of the Lodge for the occasion of its 150th anniversary, February 18, 1961. Illustrated in B&W photography of the Masonic Temple, former officers and a facsimile of their warrant of constitution. 'Subsequent to the 1911 centennial of Rising Star Lodge No. 126 there was pubilshed a scholarly volume containing a detailed 103-year history of the Lodge. In the celebration of the present sesquicentennial anniversary it would be both superfluous and presumptuous to duplicate that work. The following is therefore not so much a history as a historical sketch; in it no attempt is made to do more than summarize the material already gathered, emphasizing rather a fuller treatment of the period since 1914.' (-from the Foreword). Includes terminal list of members' names.
