Baxter (Sussex Press, Lewis) and Messrs. Nichols and Son, London, 1835. Hardcover. royal quarto, 31.5 cms (12.5 ins) x q25 cms 99.75 ins), two volumes, viii,592,xv;[ii],274,90,xv,viiipp (there is an index in volume one and in volume two an appendix, index and list of subscribers), portrait frontis in both volumes (both badly foxed) followed by a folding map in both volumes, and a total of 54 additional copper plate engravings with tissue guards as called for (some offsetting and some foxing, mainly marginal) , with numerous wood engravings in text, printed dedication inscription "To His Most gracious Majesty King William the Fourth ...". Publisher's original half calf with marbled boards, title gilt on spine, top and tail of spines rubbed or nicked, corners rubbed, hinges show signs of splitting, however, binding is firm. Text overall very clean. Overall condition very good. Please note: this is a very heavy item and will incur an increase in cost of postage
