Original navy blue cloth on boards with gilt titles and embossed publishers' logo on front cover. 1/8" tear in cloth at bottom spine edge of back cover. 1/4" tear at top of hinge edge of FFEP. Front hinge starting. Originally published in 1742, this was Henry Fielding's first novel, and one of the first novels in the English language. It is described by Fielding as an "comic epic poem in prose" about a good-natured footman's trip home from London with his friend, an absent-minded parson. 310 pp..
