Vol I is FIRST EDITION fourth issue with numbers 4-10 and Volumes II and III are FIRST EDITIONS, first issues, with complete number string. Octavo, pp. [8], 399, [1]; [8], 341, [1]; [8], 548, [2]. Maroon, green and orange cloth respectively, each with gilt titles and Volume II with gilt-blocked dagger motif to upper board, in unclipped pictorial dust-jackets designed by David Scutt, with gilt Library Association Carnegie Medal label to Volume I. Signed by the Author without dedication to title page. Jackets all very slightly creased at spine tips, with upper edge of lower cover slightly rubbed Vol I only. Near Fine volumes in like jackets. An excellent set of Pullman's award-winning His Dark Materials children's fantasy trilogy. "Northern Lights" (published in USA as "The Golden Compass") was named as one of the Top Ten Carnegie medal winners by the selection panel for the Library Association's 2007 70th Anniversary of the award, and chosen from their shortlist as the winner of the public vote, so named "Carnegie of Carnegies". Heavyweight, so a contribution towards increased postage costs will be requested for overseas delivery.
