Another tongue-in-cheek endeavor by Westlake, this time the story of a con - in prison for accidentally injuring two congressmen - who hooks up with seven other jailbirds who have a tunnel through which they leave prison when they want to, always returning because they'll need their prisoner status for an alibi when they rob a nearby bank.
