A picturesque, farcical novel depicting the humour of Irish life in the nineteenth century. The first edition thus, having been originally published in 1842. Written by nineteenth-century Irish singer, songwriter, composer, and novelist Samuel Lover. Including twenty-four illustrated steel plates by the author, collated and complete. Handsomely bound in half calf with gilt detailing to the spine. Handsomely bound in half calf with marbled boards and gilt detailing to the spine. Externally, very smart, with just light shelf wear and a small amount of rubbing to the joints and extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages contain some instances of light spotting, more prominently to the plates, not affecting readability. Very Good
