A excellent set complete in three first edition volumes of George Moore's semi autobiographical and entertaining work reporting his experiences in Ireland. Hail and Farewell is a discursive and affectionate documentation of the author's experiences in Ireland, which reads like a monologue that simultaneously conceals some self revelation and reports a witty gallery of acquaintance such as Yeats, AE, and Lady Gregory. Written with humour and elegance. An entertaining read, Ave, Salve, and Vale, has been selected by scholars as an important work.  In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally lovely with only minor shelfwear. Inscribed by a previous owner to the title page to each volume except Ave, which is inscribed to the half title page. Internally, firmly bound. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are generally clean throughout, with some light inor spotting affecting the first and last few leaves and fore edge. Very Good Indeed
