About This Item
Teguesquitengo, Morelos: the hacienda, 1950. Pamphlet. [8]p., two leaves of inexpertly handmade paperstock (flecked grey-brown paper) but plainly alkaline stuff, fastened with a single staple, staple also in good shape. The extended leaves would measure 8x5.5 inches but are printed and folded to make a tiny pamphlet of 4x5.5 inches. Presswork is cleanly as re cover titling and rear-cover mileage map (kilometers), but is sloppy with blotched letters within. Text within concerns mainly the history of this compound, which was built for Hernando Cortes in 1529. A curiously nice copy, fragile and yet almost perfectly intact but for a tiny nick to top margin of front cover. Tourist spot now; this cataloguer knows a lady who spent weeks there as a consolation for an indignity at work (snapshots, good report, place comfortable and furnished with a large swimming pool).
