Tucson Smith, Stony Brooke, and Lullaby Joslin were known by several different sobriquets in the border country, but the best known was The Three Mesquiteers. William Colt MacDonald has written another fine tale of adventure featuring these three. Tucson has the lead roll in searching out the killer or killers of people in the border town of Manzanita which had virtually paralyzed the citizenry. Tucson didn't like what was happening so he decided to intervene, and he wasn't long in finding out that Matt Nirvan, the richest, most powerful man in town was the one behind the killings. This is good story telling for story telling's sake--something you can read for sheer enjoyment and not have to try and read some sort of political or sociological commentary into it. Just good old-fashioned fun.
