Description:
London: Jonathan Cape, 1939. First Edition. Very Good/Very Good. First edition, first printing, in a very good jacket and very good book. Original unclipped jacket wit "7s. 6d. Net," though corners very minimally trimmed (no imapacts). Some rubbing to extremities, chipping to head/tail of spine, a short tear to front, and ¾ inch closed tear on back. Tan cloth over boards with red lettering on front and spine. Light darkening to cloth at edges and very slight fraying at tail of spine. Lower edge deckled. Endpapers with some foxing, but I did not find any other throughout. Old bookstore sticker to ffep and some pencil notes. Interior is lightly toned, otherwise clean and clear.  Pages: 224     Dimensions: 7⅞ x 5¼ x 1.
