London: Hamish Hamilton, 1935. First edition. Cloth. Near Fine/Good. 10" by 7.5". Ludwig Richter. A collection of children's tales translated from German into English. Charmingly illustrated by Ludwig Richter This collection has been translated by Angela Thirkell, an English/Australian novelist. The stories are a selection of folktales and fairytales by several lesser known German authors. The flyleaf notes that these five unknown stories 'will find a warm welcome in the nursery world.' In original pictorial cloth boards and held in original unclipped dustwrapper. Externally, very smart with minor shelfwear. Occasional light spots to the boards. Dustwrapper is chipped to the head and tail of spine, resulting in some loss. Closed tears to the externals of front wrap. Light scattered spots to wrap, internally and externally, heavier to the rear wrap. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright. The odd spots to endpapers. Near Fine
