Russ Lord". The Civilian Conservation Corp was established by Congress March 31, 1933 as part of Pres. Franklin Delano Roosevelt's New Deal, as a way to provide jobs for young, unemployed men during the Great Depression. The Panaca, Nevada "outfit" built the water tower at Cathedral Gorge State park among other projects in the area. Near Fine, top edge a bit dusty, in a Very Good dust jacket, old tape mends, spine faded. Introduction by William Allen White, 310 pp. including bibliography, illustrated with more than 30 black and white photos, mostly credited to named individuals who were part of the SCS (Soil Conservation Service) .
