There is a slight loss of gilt on the spine label. There is an imprint from a previous glued on flap on the inside board, the back flap is present but glued to the board. There are a few minor age spots on a couple of pages. Book is without marks or writings, pages are clean, and book is tight and sturdy. SIZE: 5 ½ x 8 ½ (approximately) PAGES: 362 pages Extra pictures located at the following: BACKGROUND/DESCRIPTION: First Edition stated. Harper & Brothers, NY 1928. Fair/None dust jacket condition. The gentleman, Monroe Wheeler was an very intimate friend of Wescott's, their friendship dating back to their years at the University of Chicago. Wheeler's first venture into publishing had been Wescott's first book and in 1930 they worked together again at Harrison of Paris where Wheeler was the typographical designer/printer. Generally Barbara Harrison and Monroe Wheeler were Harrison of Paris but Wescott became an important third in the business working with Wheeler on the selections and design. Wescott's piece "Like a Lover" appears in this collection, it was originally published by Wheeler as a small presentation book in 1926 With H-C [Sept. 1928] on copyright page.
