Durham: Black Cygnet Press, 1998. Limited Edition. Staplebound. Good. Tournor, Sister Margaret. Octavo, pp. [16]. One of 150 limited edition copies. Staple-bound paperback. Stain on title label on front cover; no other writing or marks observed. Alfred David Burnett (1937-2023) was a British poet and librarian. He was born in Edinburgh, Scotland but his childhood was spent in India, where his father was employed. After World War II he returned to Edinburgh with his mother and brother attended George Watson's College and then studied English Literature at Edinburgh University. During his career he wrote many poems, papers, and books. "Goat's Beard" was published in 1998 by the Black Cygnet Press in an edition of 150 copies using Zerkall paper with marbled wrappers and includes two wood engravings by Sister Margaret Tournour.
