About This Item

London: John Murray, Albemarle Street, W., 1937. First Edition (& 1st printing). Octavo, original red cloth stamped in gold. 384 pp. SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR on his heraldic bookplate affixed to the front free endpaper. Two tape ghosts to front endpaper and two more to the rear, obviously from someone's homemade dust jacket protector, otherwise a fine, sharp, clean copy in a beautifully preserved dust jacket (well, that much worked, anyhow!) which has the faintest of fading to the red lettering on the spine panel, price corner (7s. 6d. net) intact. One of the tape ghosts on the front endpaper crosses the upper corner of the author's signed bookplate (not affecting the heraldic device nor the signature). A nice inscribed copy in a stunning dust jacket.

¶ Intrigue and Espionage set chiefly in the country beyond the North-West Frontier of India.
