The contributors include Dannie Abse, John Ashbery, Joseph Brodsky, Charles Causley, David Gascoyne, Seamus Heaney, Ted Hughes, Edwin Morgan, Iris Murdoch, Ruth Pitter, R.S. Thomas, et al. Quite a line-up. Cover design by David Hockney. Other illustrations by John Craxton, Ghika, Matthew Spender and Maro Gorky. Number 91 of 150 copies on 'Character' laid paper. Contributor's copy: laid in is a Typed Letter Signed by Barry Humphries to Dannie Abse presenting the book. Some light partial fading to the covers. Very good indeed.
