Exquisitely bound in brown, full morocco leather with raised bands, gilt spine titles, gilt and red Victorian spine and cover designs, leather doublures with similar floral treatments on duplex (brown and green) inlaid morocco, maroon, patterned silk pastedowns, maroon silk backed heavy card free endpapers, all edge gilting. A lovely binding. In green oil cloth dust jacket and matching oil cloth and art paper lined slipcase. Published Philadelphia: J.M. Stoddart and Co, 1874. Folio, 9 x 11, 488pp., illustrated with nearly 150 steel engraving. Crack to the leather along outer rear hinge, hinge secure and sturdy, surface rub at the joint ends, fraying to the silk along edges of free endpapers. Very good in very good, plain oil cloth dust jacket and very good matching slipcase.. 1st. Full-Leather. Very Good/Very Good. Folio.
