Sir Bernard Ledwidge the author was an officer in the Indian Army in WWII and later a British Diplomat serving as Ambassador in Israel. The copy offered has the book plate of Cynthia and John Barnes to the front paste down- Sir John Barnes also served as British Ambassador in Israel.
