Edinburgh: W. & R. Chambers, Limited. Hardcover. Very Good/Good. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. A "descriptive survey" of the area around Edinburgh, including its scenic beauties, traditions, and antiquities. 1920s: No publication date given. Gift inscription on first blank page dated Christmas 1927. Presumed first edition but contains no printing or edition information. Hardcover in maroon cloth with gilt titling to the spine. Top edge dyed. Illustrated: 16 colour plates, including the frontis; over 40 pen-and-ink sketched. Index. Square and firmly bound, minor shelf wear, small impression pressed into front boards, lightly foxed throughout but more heavily stained and spotted on the fore edge. Unclipped dust jacket essentially complete, but foxed, darkened at the spine, small tears at the hinges, chipped and rubbed, and a little a little grubby overall.
