B&w illustrations - frontispiece, 4 maps (three fold-out), reproductions. The documents are grouped under three main headings: The Upper Country: Aspiration and Possession; Major Explorers of the Upper Country; The French on Hudson Bay. First index page was not properly opened at bottom edge at gutter - causing small tear and piece of the page to be left attached to previous page, very light browning to the fore-edge of the text block.. .
