Red cloth-bound boards with gold type to spine and front, frontis drawing by Henri Gissey ("Louis XIV as Apolllo. Design for a Ballet), Bibliography and Index. This book presents reproductions of 140 famous French Drawings by Poussin, Claude Lorrain and other French artists. The critical Catalogue and Introduction by Anthony Blunt supply a scientific commentary on this famous collection for students and art lovers alike. *Sir Daryl Lindsay was chairman of the interim council for the Australian National Gallery, 1968-71; his wife, Lady Joan Lindsay**, whose signature this book bears, was author of the book, 'Picnic at Hanging Rock' which was made into a successful international movie in 1975 - the couple lived at 'Mulberry Hill", Baxter***, on Australia's Mornington Peninsula.
