About This Item

A biography of businessman and philanthropist Frederick W. Schumacher. Schumacher was born in what was then part of Denmark, and came to the U.S. with his family where he made his fortune in the pharmaceutical industry. In addition to being a patron of the arts in Columbus, Ohio where he came to reside, he also founded the town of Schumacher, Ontario, which was centred on the Hollinger mine. He established many charitable endeavours in Schumacher, which was later incorporated into Timmins.

This staple bound book is in near fine condition, and signed by the author with an inscription reading "Happy Birthday 1982."
