Partly inspired by his 1919 original autobiography The Story of a Labrador Doctor. Sir Wilfred Grenfell was a renowned and greatly admired medical missionary to Newfoundland. He inspired two characters in Canadian literature,  Dr. Luke in Norman Duncan's Doctor Luke of the Labrador (1904) and Dr. Tocsin in White Eskimo by Harold Horwood (1972).In the publisher's original teal cloth binding with titles stamped in gilt to spine. Dustwrapper is very smart, with minor shelfwear and minor closed tear to head of spine, repaired by previous owner not affecting cover. Internally, firmly bound. MInor faint spotting to edges, not affecting pages which remain bright and clean. Minor closed tear to bottom halt title page. With unclipped dustwrapper. Near Fine
