Norman: University of Oklahoma Press, (1965). First Edition. First printing. Octavo. Gray cloth hardcover; dustjacket; xxxviii,246pp; maps, illus. Tight, clean and unmarked, about Fine. In the original dustwrapper, unclipped (priced $5.95 on front flap), lightly rubbed and worn at extremities; Very Good. A previous collector has laid in some related ephemera - two are modern pieces from the Friends of Fort Davis and the Nebraska Historical Association, but also an original printed U.S. War Department General Order, no. 197, May 12, 1864, establishing the official names of Forts Wadsworth, Hays, Rice and Stevenson, signed in type by E.D. Townsend, Assistant Adjutant-General. A nice copy of this standard history.
