About This Item
Philadelphia:: Westminster Press, 1961.. Book Club Edition.. Hardbound . BINDING/CONDITION: blue binding; the top edge tint is green; a Very Good book, with a Very Good dust jacket.. 8vo (8.5 inches tall) . Description: Dust jacket art by James Talone. Tracey Temple is a junior in high school who prefers animals to people. She very much wants to become a veterinarian, and hero-worships Dr. Baldwin, a woman veterinarian who has broken that male barrier. She is delighted to be given a summer job working in Dr. Baldwin's animal hospital. But a bit unsettled upon meeting the medical assistant. He is a lot different from the boys Tracey is used to. He's tall, and extremely attractive, so she naturally develops a crush even when he derisively calls her a canine Florence Nightingale. But in spite of his sarcastic remark, he is ready to help her and seems glad she is there to assist when they set a lion's tale at the zoo. Through this brief crush and the deeper insights into her chosen career, Tracey's career dream turns into a fuller dream of life. In addition to her many Christian writings, Marjorie Holmes wrote novels, both for adults, and a few for teen readers, including Cherry Blossom Princess and I, Judy as well as this one.
