Inscribed by the author on half-title page on April 13, 1921 in Washington, DC when he was withe the FTC. Book is tight, square, and unmarked. Book Condition: VG+; slight wear to tips and head and tail from shelving; several miscut pages in the rear. No DJ. Green cloth boards and spine with bright black lettering on spine and front board. 220 pp 8vo. The author was a native Kansan who was raised in a newspaper family, was a reporter, a managing editor of the Wichita Eagle, a US Representative, and finally the editor of the Eagle until his death in 1945. This book full of stories abut the booms and busts in the City of Wichita over the years and the people of the area as they dealt with the situation. Full of stories of townspeople, farmers, politicians, and businessmen. A clean and very presentable copy.
