About This Item
London : The Villon Society, 1914. Cloth. Very Good. 9" by 6.5". None. An uncommon anthology of poetry from the Seventeenth and Eighteenth Century, the titular 'Classic Period'. Translated and edited by John Payne, a poet in his own right, the volume contains work by Marc de Papillon, Mathurin Regnier and Francois Maynard. Part of a limited but unspecified amount of copies, this is number nineteen. In vellum binding with gilt detailing. Externally smart, there is some markings to the boards and slight rubbing. Internally, the pages are firmly bound and generally bright and clean throughout, aside from the odd instance of foxing. The pages are also irregularly cut and somewhat chipped. Very Good
