Dark red cloth hardcover with gilt title on the front cover and the spine. Illustrated dust jacket. Light edge wear, creases, and small tears to the dust jacket. Jacket has some old tape repairs. Light foxing to the verso of the jacket. Signed by the author on the Bedford Edition title page preceeding the half title page. Stated first edition. 1979 gift inscription written in pen to a distant cousin of Forrest on the rear end sheet.
