Longmans, Green. 1924. 4to. 27cm, first edition, frontis, x,254p., wiht 50 plate illustrations including frontis, full-page map, appendix, index, wine cloth, gilt sine titles, edges rubbed, light spotting to covers, very good copy (tr). ~ Scottish artist, big game hunter and botanist, John G. Millais (1865-1931) writes of travels in Southern Sudan in 1921. He is noted as mapping the areas of Bahr al Ghazal for the first time. With much about wildlife, big game hunting and the Dinka and Nuerclans. Well-illustrated with drawings by the author, by H.R. Millais and from photographs.
