Introduction by Norbert Muhlen. Hildebrandt began interviewing the rebel patriots as soon as the first Russian tanks began firing on June 17, 1953, and has tracked down over 300 people to find out exactly what went on. The Explosion is the full and stirring story summed up in the experiences of nine who were there.
