Very clean black boards with black cloth spine, silver lettering on spine. Tiny bump to one corner tip. No fading or wear. Binding is tight and square, hinges are sound, pages and edges are clean. No names, writing or marks. 410 pages. Clean jacket is unchipped, has closed edge tear at rear flap fold (under 1"), not price clipped. Enclosed in new archival quality removable mylar cover. Author returns to her Polish homeland and five other countries--Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, and the two nations of the former Czechoslovakia--which had just undergone an historic transformation in the wake of communism's demise.
