Previous owner's name stamp on the bottom edge of the text block has been partially blocked out with blue text and Previous owner's name stamp on the first page of the book. There is no other damage of the book itself, no annotation no highlighting et cetera. The dust jacket is rubbed across top and bottom edges, and is now protected. This text in European history features an analysis of all aspects of culture – the arts, philosophy, science, technology, popular culture, and – the ways in which they responded to a changing civilisation throughout Europe. The maps are by J. Donovan. the book is illustrated with five picture groups, showing art & architecture of each of the centuries the book covers, as well as having in black-and-white photographs in the text, and numerous maps.
