Contemporary sprinkled calf, rebacked and corners repaired. The spine with gold lines and blind tooling. Original endpapers preserved. Light toning of the endpapers and adjacent leaves and pp10-11 marked by something used as a bookmark? at one time. Generally a clean, crisp copy. Armorial bookplate on the front pastedown and a presentation inscription from the translator? to John Manley Esq on the initial blank. An anonymous translation of Essai sur la chasse au fusil, 1781. There was also a Dublin edition printed in 1789 and a second London edition in 1791. ESTC T60609 with copies in Birmingham, Cambridge and British Library, and 6 copies in USA.
