SIGNED in ink by the Author neatly on the free front endpaper. Fifth in the Anna Pigeon, Park Ranger, mystery series. Nevada Barr created the Anna Pigeon series while working at a seasonal job in Guadalupe Mountains National Park, Texas. Her first permanent Park Ranger job was on the Natchez Trace Parkway in Mississippi. after the success of her park mysteries, the author resigned her post to pursue writing fulltime. Anna Pigeon is a fictional Natioinal park ranger and detective in the series of novels by the same name. She shares some life experiences with the author such as working as a national park ranger and having had a husband who worked in the theater in New York City. The books in the series are set in various national parks, where Pigeon solves murders that are often related to natural resource issues.

Synopsis

Cumberland Island, off the coast of Georgia, is a breathtaking setting for tedious fire presuppression duty. But Anna’s boring routine is shattered when two men die in a plane crash, victims of sabotage.
