About This Item
Harcourt Brace Jovanovich, San Diego, Austin, Orlando, 1988. Very Good/No Dust Jacket. Margot Zemach. Quarto, hardcover, in yellow pictorial boards. Gift note on endpaper else VG. No dj. Gives short history of the umbrella. 32 pages plus the story. The typical poor orphan boy has only the inheritance of a magical umbrella, which serves to extract him from trouble and eventually to gain him a kingdom among subjects who have never before seen an umbrella, much less one which could fly. The pace is rapid and hilarious, especially with the boy zooming about in order to keep hold of his flying umbrella.
