New York: Empire State, Inc, 1931. Pictorial boards. Very Good -. The official commemoration --in hardcover-- of the May 1st, 1931 opening of the Empire State Building. SIGNED IN GREEN INK BOTH ABOVE AND BELOW HIS FULL-PAGE PHOTO BY FORMER GOVERNOR ALFRED SMITH (BY 1931 THE PRESIDENT OF EMPIRE STATE, INC.) AND HIS WIFE CATHERINE SMITH. A solid copy to boot, in its wonderful Art Deco cover. Tight and VG, with light wear along the edges and light scuffing at the panels. Former owner name as well to the front pastedown, while citing the "official opening of Empire State". Tall quarto, a number of black-and-white photos chronicling the construction, including a number by the formidable Lewis Hine.
