Los Angeles: Black Sparrow,, 1974.. First edition, publisher’s copy.. 146 pp. Foxing along top edges, else near fine in printed paper-covered boards with cloth spine and printed label. Fine acetate dust jacket. Cover art by Jose Hernandez. Designated “Publisher’s Copy” on the colophon page and INSCRIBED by Roditi, “for John Martin” with a small portrait drawing. Roditi has additionally INSCRIBED the copy again on the title page, “For John Martin, / who keeps American poetry / alive and revives forgotten / + neglected poets.” As in the deluxe issue, opposite the title page is tipped-on an original etching by Hernandez, which is numbered and signed.
