Near fine. A splendid facsimile edition and translation, of two works of Fabricius. The introduction includes a history of embryology before Fabricius. "Fabricius wrote at great length on embryology, inventing many theories, some of which were false. His illustrations marked a great advance on previous work. Fabricius recorded for the first time the dissection of several embryos" – Garrison-Morton 465 and 466 (citing the first Latin editions of 1621 and 1600).
