Illustrated by E. McKnight Kauffer in opaque gouache colors in pochoir with 7 full-page plates and 3 vignettes. Bound in full cream cloth titled in black on spine and upper cover. In the original black boards slipcase with paper spine label. The stencil process "has depth of colour and a brilliance which could hardly have been achieved by any other printing method." (Herbert Simon. Song and Words, a History of the Curwen Press, p. 215).
