About This Item
The University of Chicago Press, 1948. Hardcover. Very Good/Fair. A signed account of the life and works of the Finnish architect Eliel Saarinen. Includes a preface by the Finnish architect Alvar Aalto, illustrations, and chronology of Saarinen's works. This copy is from a limited printing, numbered 167, and is signed by both Saarinen and the author of the book, Christ-Janer, on the rear free endpaper. The black and white dust jacket is toned, has several chips and tears with a small portion missing from the top of the spine and the bottom left edge of the back. The cloth covered book is in fine condition, with the title on the spine and the architect's initials (ES) stylistically drawn on the bottom left of the front cover. The firsts few pages have an paper-clip imprint, otherwise pages are clean and unmarked.
