Bromsgrove, England: The Messenger Printers, 1931. Likely self published. Hardcover. Very good overall. The personal account of Col. Morcom, recounting the personal side of travels with the British Economic Mission to the Far East, 1930-31. A scarce book, a presentation from the author and his wife Isabel to "Hilda". The Foreward - "The report of the Economic Mission to the Far East says little of the conditions under which it was compiled, and nothing of the personal side of our travels. This reprint from my private journal may interest some of our friends. We had but limited time for sightseeing, and less for descriptive writing...." 10 parts including the preparation. The first sentence frames the story "Deflation, the American crash, and British trade and employment figures were enough to make anyone interested in industry anxious about the future..." He is enlisted in the effort to assist with export trade. The Mission focused on China, visiting Shanghai & Nanking, as well as Singapore, Japan, Manchuria and Canada.

Roy. 8vo, 137pp, 28 unnumbered plates, illustrations, facsimile portraits, decorative endpapers. Publisher's tan cloth marked with title label on the spine. The tracks of the voyage are drawn on the decorative endpapers.
