About This Item
New York: Grosset & Dunlap, 1914. First edition thus. Hardcover. Fine/very good. First "Photoplay" edition. Hardcover in red cloth with spine lettered in black and full front cover color photo tipped on. Photographic endpapers. 300 pp. plus 12 pp. publisher's ads at rear. Illustrated with photographic scenes from the 1914 Famous Players silent film starring Mary Pickford (who appears in all but one of the photoplates as wellas the endpapers. A tight, fine example (ownership signature and date of June 29th , 1915 on the half title). In the original color piuctorial dust jacket (duplicating the book cover illustration) with a few small faults (see the attached pictures) but unfaded and quite presentable.
