E Phillips Oppenheim (1866-1946) was a prolific English novelist. The opening date of this story is April, 1947, and the Humberstone discovery has been shared with seven men and seven only, for it can destroy the world and must be used, by illustration only, to convince the world that there can be no more war --or if the United States should be attacked by a foreign enemy. There is a half inch line indentation extending from the fore edge, not discolored, faint; very slight wear to extremities. Tight and solid with intact endbands. Page edges clean and unmarked, no foxing. Pages quite clean and free from any markings, moderately toned, more so on edges. 304 pages. 7.6 x 5.2 inches. 1937, P F Collier & Son, New York, New York, USA
